Valedictorian Speaks Out Against Schooling in Graduation Speech
Author Note: Over the past four days, this post has received 110K+ hits and over 300+ comments. If you are interested in the unschooling/edupunks movement, please follow us via RSS, Email, or Twitter.Last month, Erica Goldson graduated as valedictorian of Coxsackie-Athens High School. Instead of using her graduation speech to celebrate the triumph of her victory, the school, and the teachers that made it happen, she channeled her inner Ivan Illich and de-constructed the logic of a valedictorian and the whole educational system.

The study concludes that test scores increase as school librarians spend more time collaborating with and providing training to teachers, providing input into curricula, and managing information technology for the school
How on earth are we going to recreate the input that Jen had into our curriculum now that she has gone to CC? What kind of support/mentoring will our new librarian receive? WHo is responsible for that?

Sample tweet: Just finished chapter 1 of Graceling and I'm hooked. What do you think is going to happen next? #reading
Question: how could you make this happen for a classroom? I get that you could have every student follow you, but how could you connect the whole group? Would you have to have a unique hashtag that everyone follows like #booktitle? Anyone still checking this synclinkpost thing?
